Going into the GAP store in Shepherd’s Bush Westfield I found there was a large sign in red outside saying up to 50% off. So I pondered in was asked “Would you like a basket?” Thanked, said no thank you then took in and explored what GAP was up to at the present time, there were lots of colourful items, skinny jeans particularly in turquoise and tangerine for £19.99- not bad. Comfy looking cords in vibrant pinks and yellows.
Looking around me I noticed most of the people in the store were families, other than that mainly females. In 2011, Fox Business reports: “Its target market is now fixed on customers between the ages of 25 and 35, but the store has changed its focus enough times to confuse shoppers.”
I would say that the age range of people in the store was about right, if anything perhaps 5% in store were slightly older up to 45. It was an interesting observation and great source of primary research.
